Thanks for listing alternatives to Stackoverflow. I’ve experienced all of these: Unwelcoming attitude towards new users/beginner programmers and downvoting of questions, especially if they’re not technical or seen as duplicates, and one more. I was just banned from asking questions because my questions hadn’t received enough upvotes.

    Thank you for the list.
Just yesterday a question was down-voted by a top rated Overflow moderator. I felt it was unjustified as his problem with my post was that I detailed what I tried to resolve the situation in the same box as the code I had written. In my opinion the instructions clearly indicated that SO wanted them there.

Stack Overflow has the answer for everything but only if you are well versed in understanding them. I am one of the dummies so I never ask. I do see answers on the site but dont understand most because everything uses something else which aluses something else. I started before Microsoft, Apple, and DOS( back when a normal system had 64k RAM and 2 Floppy drives). I am now 85 years old, retired and for sure dont understand the new ways to do things so I reakky dont understand most answers
